How do I add a website or server that I want to monitor and add contact people?

To add a website or server, please login and select Settings in the navigation menu. Select probes and add your probe (check). Once you have added the probe for your website or server we will start automatically to monitor it.

When you add a probe (check) you can also add people who will receive the alert or a daily, weekly or monthly overview.

Which protocols are supported?

CheckMySite.com can monitor HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, DNS, SQL, MySQL and FTP. You can also monitor if a website should/shouldn't contain a specific keyword. Go to settings, click on a probe or add a new one and select the tab advanced. If you want a specific keyword that will appear in case of a failure please add ! before the keyword like !error.

How do I turn off a check?

You can easily turn off a check if you go to the probe status report and click the turn off button.

How do I monitor DNS?

CheckMySite.com is able to monitor local and primary DNS. To monitor DNS please go to Settings, checks and select Add probes or click on a probe. Select Advanced. Here you can select as DNS lookup mode local and primary.

How do I select a checkpoint?

You can easily select a checkpoint if you go to settings, click on a probe or add a new one and select the tab checkpoints.

What kinds of alerts can I receive?

CheckMySite can send you alerts via SMS/text messaging and e-mail. You can customize which alert you will send to which operator.

How do I send a test SMS/text message or an e-mail alert?

To be sure you will receive our alerts in case your website or one of your servers is down you can send yourself a test SMS/text message. Please visit “Settings,” select Operators and create or edit an operator. Once you are done, again click on the operator's name. Select the option send a test SMS/text message to an operator. You will immediately receive an SMS/text message from CheckMySite with a verification code. Please fill out the verification code in the operator screen, which is the same screen from which you chose to send the test SMS/text message. On the same page you can also test to confirm that you will receive an e-mail alert from CheckMySite.

I did not receive a SMS/text message. What can I do?

We suggest that you wait a few minutes. If you did not receive an alert on your mobile phone, you can select a different SMS gateway, as CheckMySite works together with providers in the USA and Europe. To change a different gateway, login, click “Settings” in the navigation menu and then “Account settings.” Select the tab account settings and then click “Edit.” Now you can choose between the gateway in the USA or the one in Europe. If you continue to experience difficulties, please contact our customer support staff for prompt assistance.

How can I stop SMS/text messaging alerts when my website or server is down?

You can stop SMS/text messaging or any other alerts if you go to the Probe Status report and click the “Alarm Off” button. The alerts of this specific probe will immediately stop.

How many SMS/text messaging alerts do I have and how do I add SMS alerts?

You will have 20 SMS/text messages a month. We will not automatically stop but always send you a warning message that there are almost no SMS/text messages left in your account. You can easily add more SMS text messages via the order page.

I have received an alert, but my website or server is up.

CheckMySite is designed to eliminate false alerts. We will do a double-check from two checkpoints before you will receive an alert. If the error is resolved within a minute, you might receive a CheckMySite alert. However, if there are gateway problems and your website is unreachable from the Internet, we can also send you an alert to be read once you can reach your website again.
